Care For Your Hair Under an Install or Wig
We are all about protecting your natural hair especially if you are doing a protective style. If you wear installs as a protective style why not take care of your natural hair while it’s in that style if the whole point of it is for protection. While under installs your hair gets less manipulated and can be grown out healthier. Just because you decide to throw on a wig or get an install does not mean you shouldn’t care for your natural hair underneath. Here are 3 tips for caring for your hair while it is under an install or wig:
Keeping hair hydrated underneath your installation and or wig is important because you don’t want your hair to become dry, brittle, and prone to breakage. Pay close attention to your edges because it is the most fragile part of your hair and can easily become damaged and break off so be sure to keep them moisturized with minimal tension. Also, keep an eye out for your ends because if they begin to break it can cause breakage up your hair shaft and cause more damage. Even if you simply spritz the hair with water it needs some type of moisture to stay hydrated.
When you leave it installed for too long the hair underneath can become matted and in the worst case molded if you wash your install while it’s still in and don’t dry properly. This also includes taking down your braid underneath for about two to three weeks and when you do so wash your hair as you would normally.
