Wash your extensions when necessary

Unlike your real hair that you most likely wash much more often, your extensions are a little different. When you see a lot of product build-up or it’s getting harder to style, it’s time to wash. But even so, if you aren’t using as much product and aren’t seeing build up wash your extensions every few weeks.

Keep more than one set

Save time and precious extensions by having more than one type and length. This makes it easier to try other styles as well as allows them to stay in good health longer.

Protect your extensions

This doesn’t just go for when it’s on your head but more when it’s off your head. Storing them properly is the simplest way to keep them longer. When you take them out, detangle them before placing them in preferably a satin or satin-lined bag. Be sure to keep them in a dry, cool place and ensure they are completely dry before storing.

Keep hair detangled

Just like brushing your hair is important, being sure to keep your extensions tangle-free also. Start at the ends and work up the hair shaft to prevent snagging and removing hair from your weft. Do not brush or comb hair when extensions are wet either because this can cause breakage.
